Looe self catering accommodation

Smuggler Cottage, East Looe, Cornwall is a beautiful, Grade II listed, 3 bedroomed 15th Century cottage situated on the level in the old part of town. Moments from the beach and river, the cottage is restored, featuring ships beams, timbers, panelling and its smuggler tunnel access. It can sleep 6 people. For a self catering holiday - look no further!

LINKS

I think you should probably ignore all the links here that encourage you to go somewhere else and 'do something' for the day! My advice is to have a holiday here, you've probably travelled some distance to get here and there is no real need to chase around anymore. . . . Get comfy, get relaxed and enjoy Looe.

The Bullers Arms

THE BULLERS ARMS : 'DRINKING PUB' (an honest logo - prob. not created by an ad. agency)

Of course it hasn't got a website - BullersArms.co.uk - don't be silly!

Smallest pub - dark, charming & a real pub. Whenever you go - it feels like 10pm : people hunched over drinks and chatting, singing or shouting, but always ready to encourage your son to thrash you at pool. It manages to squeeze in live music too.

I've got a new logo for you .... VICIOUS BUT FAIR !!

Quay PCs
Ye Olde Fishermans Arms - another wonderful and very real drinking pub. The oldest pub in Looe and serves a wonderful pint of Doom Bar. Music a couple of times a week. Another fabulous Drinking Bar! and free wireless internet - not a necessary feature, the landlord just leaves his own service open for anyone who wants it. I have stood outside the window at 9am and downloaded my email!

The Ship

THE SHIP - I didn't want to be: but I'm a fan of this place. Always busy and welcoming, never disappointing.

Rule #1 - 'assume nothing' It looks like: big screen sports, Pool, machines, kiddie friendly - it looked like I wouldn't like it. BUT, it is so well run. I enjoy watching the football here and although not trying to rival the good restaurants - it serves well cooked, carefully presented and interesting meals for the whole family. Much more than 'pub grub'

pasty

Tip from my Uncle in Cubert :

"make sure e get one wi' a good left-hand crimp boy (family joke), they'm some 'andsome ... yes! "

Hand-Made by Cornish Maids!

Best Pasty in town ? My answer is different each time I 'survey' !

Martins Diary / Sarah's Pasty Shop / Looe Bakery .... all made on the premises. Everyone puts Sarah's at No.1, I just want more pepper in them and less salt.

Looe Fisherman's choir 1960s

Almost opposite the cottage. Great reviews from visitors who have eaten there. Well known for roasts. Solid food here - always busy, do book.

Out of the front door, through the alley, turn right ... another restaurant : World Wide Cuisine, try The Ginger Lily. For Reservations 01503 265437 or 0751 293 2110
